All dogs deserve to receive our utmost affection and care. Sadly, many dogs are never showered with love and they endure heartbreak and mistreatment.
Valor, a sweet Pit Bull, was one of the canines who was abused by the people who were supposed to be his protectors.
Cold-hearted people dumped him on the Michigan streets in freezing weather.
All odds were against Valor. He was in horrible condition, emaciated and covered in pressure wounds.
Despite everything, the brave pup fought to stay alive. As he roamed the snowy streets shivering with cold, Valor never lost hope of being rescued.
Valor Meets Good Humans
The rescuers at Rebel Dogs Detroit were monitoring a humane trap that they set for a different stray dog when they spotted Valor.
The pup walked toward them and wagged his tail.
The rescue team was devastated to see the heartbreaking condition Valor was in. His bones were protruding from his body which was covered in pressure wounds.
The rescuers assumed that the doggo was forced to sit on a hard surface without being able to move.
They felt sad for him and were committed to saving him and giving him another chance at happiness.
The rescuers were afraid that Valor would get spooked. They offered him treats and made kissing noises in hopes of gaining his trust.
Sensing that the rescuers would help him, Valor ran toward them.
When the pup approached them, the team managed to secure him with a slip lead.
At that moment, Valor felt a bit scared and started flailing.
His rescuers spoke to him gently and gave him more treats. Valor calmed down. He realized that he was safe and he surrendered to his rescuers.
Surprisingly, this wasn’t the first time that the rescuers crossed paths with Valor. They saw him five nights earlier while they were watching the trap.
Unfortunately, the pup disappeared into the darkness before they had the chance to help him.
The team had been terribly worried that the doggo hadn’t survived the frigid temperatures. Now, when they had him in their arms, they were overjoyed.
“We feared the worst in the bitter cold, so to see him again today was nothing short of a miracle,” Rebel Dogs Detroit wrote in a Facebook post.
Valor Hopes To Find A Foster Home
The team brought him to the Michigan rescue. When they were about to take him out of the car, Valor refused to move.
His reaction left the rescuers heartbroken. They knew that the doggo was afraid that he would be abandoned again.
When Valor realized that his human friends brought him to safety, he melted with gratitude.
The pup is happy because he has a warm shelter and a lot of love.
The sweet pup is now looking for a foster home where he can regain his strength and continue healing.
